The University of Birmingham is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Estates to lead the Estates Division and play a key role in shaping and delivering our new Campus Vision. As a strategic leader, you will provide expert advice to the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and Chief Operating Officer, and contribute to the University Executive Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Estates Division, comprising c.200 staff, and drive excellence in service delivery across the University estate.
- Develop and implement the Campus Masterplan, working closely with international architects and stakeholders.
- Deliver ambitious major capital projects, aligning with the University's strategy to become a global top 50 university.
- Collaborate with staff, students, partners, and neighbours to develop and implement the 2045 Campus Vision.
- Provide strategic guidance on estate development, sustainability, and net zero targets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in estates leadership roles within large, complex industry-leading organisations.
- Track record of delivering major capital programmes and setting a clear vision for teams.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff to deliver exceptional results.
