About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team at Focus Recruit. As a key member of our accounting team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management team and Principals of the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management: Review and manage a portfolio of jobs within the accounts team, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Team Support: Assist in the management and development of junior members of the team, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their roles.
  • Corporate Tax Returns: Prepare Corporate Tax Returns in conjunction with accounts for FRS 105 clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Workflow Optimization: Assist in developing smooth accounting workflows and processes between the bookkeeping team to ensure prompt delivery of stat accounts.
  • Client Relationship Management: Manage client relationships, ensuring excellent communication and service delivery.
  • Account Finalization: Finalize accounts under the overall control of the Senior Manager and Principals.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: ACA or ACCA qualified (1-2 years PQE).
  • Accounting Knowledge: Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting standards, direct and indirect taxes.
  • Xero Expertise: Significant experience and knowledge with Xero accounting software.
  • Staff Management: Good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work is undertaken appropriately.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and people management skills, with evidence of a history of managing staff and clients successfully.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a calm and collected manner to meet tight deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Be a team player with good interpersonal skills and an ability to manage junior team members.
Employment Details
  • Full-time Role: Monday to Friday (flexible time policy - combination of office/home working).
  • Remuneration: Remuneration will be dependent on experience.
  • Right to Work: Right to Work in the UK required.
Remuneration Package
  • Annual Bonus: Annual Christmas Bonus equivalent to 1 week's salary.
  • Pension Scheme: Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme all staff are auto enrolled. (Employer: 5%; Employee: 3%) subject to eligibility.
  • Private Medical Insurance: Private Medical Insurance following completion of 3 months service (this is a taxable benefit).
  • Death in Service: Death in Service scheme cover (4x salary).
  • Group Income Protection: Group Income Protection Scheme (non-contributory) following completion of 3 months service.
  • Annual Leave: Annual Leave will be 25 days per annum (pro rata). 3 days are normally taken at Christmas/New Year.
