What you'll do

As the Global Cuisine Buyer at Sainsbury's, you will be instrumental in ensuring we acquire the finest products at the most competitive prices to deliver quality and value to our customers, collaborating with some of the largest household brands in the food sector.

You will take charge of, implement, and refine the purchasing and sales strategy for each segment within Global Cuisine, with the responsibility of driving sustainable market share growth and cash profit through a competitive and distinctive customer offering; highlighting these during key events such as Lunar New Year or National Curry Week.

In this position, you will work cross-functionally to assess product ranges, identifying opportunities for new product introductions, development, branded promotions, and cost efficiencies.

You will make pivotal decisions in both the Purchasing Strategy and Sales Strategy, influencing stakeholders and utilizing financial, market, and customer data to drive a market-leading product range and trade plan.

Additionally, you will manage a diverse array of supplier relationships (both branded and private label), and lead cross-functional initiatives to achieve successful outcomes.

With your strong commercial insight, analytical abilities, and effective communication skills, you will be essential in supporting Sainsbury's to excel in the market and fulfill our mission to provide 'Good Food for All of Us'.


Who you are

As a Buyer, you are a seasoned professional with a proven history in negotiation and influence, capable of quickly establishing strong cross-functional relationships both internally and externally.

You possess strong commercial insight, with a keen eye for detail, enabling you to develop and execute customer-centric category plans aligned with the company's strategy, aiming to sustainably increase market share and cash profit.

You combine your ability to analyze financial, market, and customer data with innovative ideas to disrupt the market and deliver best-in-class propositions to our customers; all supported through effective purchasing and sales strategies that you collaboratively build with your suppliers.

With excellent communication skills, adaptability, and resilience, you navigate complex information, influence stakeholders, and lead relevant projects to successful completion.

You'll also be able to share in our success as you may be eligible for a performance-related bonus of up to 20% of salary, depending on how we perform.
