Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our market access programme, a critical component of the Department for Business and Trade's growth mission. As Head of Market Access Programme, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of removing trade barriers and promoting UK exports around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team responsible for managing our market access programme, including governance, monitoring, and evaluation structures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase the economic impact of our programme, working closely with the Directorate's central strategy function and overseas network.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of six people, based across London and Darlington offices, to deliver the market access programme and resolve priority market access barriers in the EU region.
Requirements
  • Successful experience of leading complex work, with effective planning skills and the ability to respond proactively to changing circumstances.
  • Experience of leading work across organisational boundaries, with strong communication skills and the ability to influence and incentivise others to deliver.
  • Well-practised management skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and get the best out of people from a range of backgrounds and levels of experience.
