Deputy Director of Operations

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Deputy Director of Operations to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide senior leadership to the implementation of service delivery and development plans across the division, working closely with the Divisional Director of Operations and other senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Support workforce planning and development, including integration of operational and clinical services.
- Provide leadership and support to other Heads of Service and General Managers within the division.
- Line manage, coach, and develop leaders within the division and other senior staff.
- Support the development of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion programme within the division.
- Ensure compliance with Trust-wide staff management policies and procedures.
- Investigate staff management issues and present findings to the Executive Team.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Divisional Triumvirate to provide support and leadership to the directorate senior management teams, ensuring clear communication of Trust values, vision, priorities, and expectations.
They will also be responsible for managing complex projects and programmes, ensuring the delivery of strategic plans within the operating framework.
Strategy, Change Management, and Service ImprovementThe Deputy Director of Operations will lead the development of clinical and operational strategy, working collaboratively with Heads of Service and internal corporate teams.
They will support and lead on the development and implementation of transformation and service improvements, contributing to the delivery of the Trust's Corporate Objectives.
The successful candidate will also take a lead role in change management programmes, ensuring the successful implementation of programmes and initiatives that impact the Trust.
They will provide support to facilitate the development and implementation of a comprehensive estates strategy for transforming environments for the delivery of care.
Additionally, they will manage service improvement projects within the division and contribute to Trust-wide service improvement projects.
The Deputy Director of Operations will also lead the development of the annual Divisional Business Plan, including the formation of the divisional five-year plan and coordination of business case planning and development across the division.
They will develop business cases in support of service improvements, transformation, and new business opportunities, working closely with the divisional Finance and HR Business Partners, along with the Business Development team and other corporate departments.
The successful candidate will ensure that standards of service set are reviewed to support the delivery of services in line with national and local guidance and benchmarks, local contractual requirements, activity, and financial targets.
They will also coordinate preparation for monthly Divisional performance reviews and performance reviews with the Executive Team.
