Role Overview

  • Position: Indirect Tax Manager
  • Summary: Responsible for managing indirect tax obligations, including sales/use tax, VAT/GST/HST, and related projects.
  • Classification: Exempt (US Only)
  • People Management: No

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance and timely reporting for indirect taxes across various regions, including the UK, EU, US, Canada, and LATAM.
  • Provide guidance on indirect tax matters globally.
  • Lead audits and manage relationships with tax authorities and external consultants.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to offer strategic indirect tax advice for business initiatives.
  • Prepare and review indirect tax journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support the implementation of Oracle ERP concerning indirect taxes.
  • Identify and document process gaps in the indirect tax function.
  • Evaluate issues and opportunities related to indirect taxes.
  • Enhance indirect tax knowledge through training and collaboration with business partners.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Indirect Tax team, including budgeting and staff development.
  • Conduct research and analysis on various tax issues.
  • Assist with additional tax-related projects as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 8 to 11 years of experience in global indirect tax within large multinational corporations or public accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; Master's in Taxation or professional certifications (ACCA/CPA) preferred.
  • Familiarity with sales tax software such as Avalara, Vertex, and Oracle.
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, and customs duties is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in improving and automating tax processes.
  • Strong research and communication abilities.
  • Collaborative team player willing to engage at all levels.
  • Highly organized and self-driven with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to tackle complex issues and align business goals with tax compliance strategies.

Compensation: The base salary for this position typically ranges from £66,000 to £100,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
