Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this role; however, applications from both English and Welsh speakers are welcomed.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will spearhead service enhancements, guided by best practices, current research, and national policies, including the Dementia Action Plan for Wales and the All Wales Dementia Care Pathway of Standards.
Providing assistance to families and caregivers will be essential, and the candidate should demonstrate a solid understanding of prevalent mental health conditions, along with substantial experience in older adult mental health services. You will be responsible for leading service improvements and collaborating with relevant national organizations and various agencies, including primary care and third sector entities.
The role requires the application of specialized nutritional knowledge and skills, including the assessment, planning, and delivery of tailored dietetic interventions in diverse settings such as community, outpatient, and inpatient care. You will also be responsible for educating and training staff to enhance their understanding of diet and nutrition.
Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, speech therapists, and psychiatrists, will be vital in assessing and caring for older adults experiencing different stages of mental health challenges.
