Position Summary

Role Description

As TPR undergoes significant transformation within the pensions sector, we are adopting innovative practices to enhance regulatory effectiveness and serve savers better.

The Data Privacy & Compliance team is integral to TPR's mission, offering guidance, support, and assurance in relation to:

  • Applicable information legislation (such as UK GDPR and Freedom of Information), alongside identifying and managing information security risks.
  • Investigating and responding to incidents related to information.
  • We are seeking a Data Privacy & Compliance (DPC) Practitioner to deliver professional services across the organization.

In this role, you will engage with diverse stakeholders, providing well-researched advice on various issues and collaboratively addressing challenges to ensure TPR meets its statutory obligations and strategic goals securely and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Assessing and advising on the risks associated with maintaining ISO27001 standards and compliance with DPA/GDPR.
  • Offering guidance on all matters related to data protection, incidents, and associated risks to staff and management.
  • Facilitating the exercise of statutory rights by customers, staff, and the public regarding their information held by TPR.
  • Managing inquiries related to Freedom of Information requests and Data Subject Access Rights.
  • Supporting TPR's strategic priorities by ensuring privacy considerations are integrated into new initiatives, minimum standards are upheld, and risk assessments are conducted.

Candidate Profile

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a complex environment involving information governance, records management, and risk management, preferably within a regulatory or public sector context.
  • Ability to provide independent subject matter advice in alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders while applying best practices.

Preferred:

  • Experience handling requests under the Freedom of Information Act and/or UK GDPR.
  • Familiarity with BSI ISO27001 standards.
  • Relevant qualifications in Information Governance, Freedom of Information, Data Protection, or Records Management.
  • Understanding of legal obligations stemming from statutes, including Pensions Acts and regulatory principles.
