Orion Group is currently in search of a seasoned Financial Strategist to join our reputable construction client.


As the Financial Strategist, you will oversee the daily financial and operational activities while enhancing the organization through the establishment of a robust business management framework aimed at assessing and improving financial and operational performance.


We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a keen and inquisitive mindset to thoroughly understand the business and its team, fostering ongoing enhancements in financial outcomes, operational procedures, and practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute financial strategies, business policies, and procedures to maximize the company's financial and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform regular financial assessments, forecasting, and budgeting to deliver precise financial reports and insights for informed decision-making.
  • Design and track business metrics, identify patterns, and proactively suggest measures to enhance financial results and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the timely and precise preparation of monthly management accounts, including work in progress (WIP), job costing, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and ensure adherence to tax laws and reporting obligations.
  • Effectively manage cash flow to optimize working capital, mitigate financial risks, and enhance profitability.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in finance, sharing insights with the team.


Qualifications:

  • Ideally, candidates should be ACCA/CIMA/ICAS qualified or in the process of qualification.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft software, particularly Excel.
  • Proven experience working independently and autonomously while leading an engaged finance team.
  • A career-driven individual with a growth-oriented mindset.
  • Aiming to manage a business at an executive level within the next five years.
