Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will engage in all facets of design related to the production, procurement, service support, and technical documentation of mechanical systems specifically tailored for hydrogen energy applications. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all designed equipment adheres to the highest safety and quality standards while remaining on schedule within the project timeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design hydrogen-based equipment, including refueling stations, fuel storage systems, and related installations.
  • Conduct supporting calculations, including flow, pressure, structural, heat transfer, and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Utilize 3D CAD software for design purposes.
  • Collaborate with controls and electrical engineers to ensure comprehensive system design.
  • Prepare specifications for parts and oversee their procurement.
  • Develop technical documentation and operation & maintenance manuals.
  • Adhere to health, safety, quality, and environmental protocols.
  • Maintain project documentation, including Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) records.

Success Metrics:
  • Completion of mechanical design projects, including all necessary documentation and CAD models.
  • Designs that are compliant with budget and schedule constraints.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline (e.g., structural design, machine design, pressure vessels, or fluid dynamics).
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in construction or civil engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with metalwork and piping.
  • Proficiency in both 3D and 2D CAD software, particularly Autodesk Inventor.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering design standards, structural and pressure vessel regulations.
  • Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret P&ID diagrams.
  • Understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Capability to troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues.
  • Essential knowledge of small bore piping and pipe bending.
