About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Listgrove, a leading recruitment and HR specialist in the plastics, packaging, petrochemicals, chemicals, energy, and recycling sectors.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for hydrogen energy solutions, ensuring high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a market leader in the low carbon renewable sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop hydrogen based equipment, including refuelers, fuel storage, and installations.
  • Complete supporting calculations, including flow, pressure, structural, heat transfer calculations, and FEA.
  • Develop 3D CAD designs and work with controls and electrical engineers to support the complete system design.
  • Prepare part specifications and procure parts.
  • Prepare technical file documentation and O&M manuals.
  • Ensure adherence to H&S, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain project PED and HAZOP documentation.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, construction, or civil engineering.
  • Experience with metal work and pipework, including hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • CAD proficiency in 3D and 2D.
  • Autodesk Inventor 3D proficiency.
  • 2D drawing proficiency, including standards, dimensioning, and materials.
  • Mechanical engineering design experience in structural and pressure vessels.
  • Knowledge of structural and pressure vessel regulations.
  • Materials and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret P&ID.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Fault finding and supplying solutions to engineer faults.
  • Small bore piping and pipe bending knowledge is essential.
