We work closely with sister companies to plan, permit, engineer, and construct green hydrogen projects, leveraging our expertise in electrolytic hydrogen deployment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a comprehensive range of mechanical engineering tasks, ensuring the highest standards of design, safety, and efficiency in our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement design criteria for piping and mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform detailed calculations, including piping stress, mechanical equipment, finite element analysis, and fire protection systems.
- Participate in HAZID and HAZOP studies, and design emergency shutdown systems to comply with safety standards.
- Design and implement hydrogen storage solutions, including high-pressure tanks and storage systems, ensuring safe storage and compliance with all relevant regulations and safety measures.
- Develop mechanical equipment lists, material selection guides, and material selection diagrams (MSD).
- Design equipment layouts and arrangements, piping layouts, sections, details, and utility station layouts.
- Select, specify, and maintain pumps and compressors, ensuring efficient and reliable operation through predictive maintenance, developing and managing spare parts lists.
- Create and maintain a variety of engineering documents and drawings, including tie-in drawings, plot plans, piping isometrics, and fire protection system layout drawings.
- Work closely with project teams, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to define and meet project deliverables.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success in designing and optimizing mechanical and piping systems with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.
- Expertise in performing detailed engineering calculations for piping and mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in developing and interpreting engineering drawings and documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel as necessary.
- Legal right to work full-time in the United Kingdom, in perpetuity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the hydrogen and renewable energy sectors.
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards for piping and mechanical engineering.
- Professional accreditation or active membership in recognized engineering institutions.
