Bournemouth Airport is looking for a proficient and seasoned Air Traffic Services (Control) Manager to enhance our dynamic team. This position demands exceptional leadership and organizational capabilities to guarantee the seamless and effective functioning of our Air Traffic Services unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the everyday functions of the Air Traffic Team to provide a secure, efficient, and effective Air Traffic service to all users.
  • Deliver clear guidance throughout the unit, managing both team and individual performance.
  • Collaborate with air traffic control staff, senior management, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and teamwork in operations.
  • Develop and implement procedures and protocols to uphold professional and high standards across all aspects of the function.
  • The MATS will hold a full qualification and license as an Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO), maintaining at least one Unit Endorsement, in addition to the responsibilities defined for the ATCO.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in managing Air Traffic Services.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of airport operations and commercial insight.
  • In-depth knowledge of air traffic control procedures, regulations, and safety measures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions in high-pressure environments.
  • Fully SMS qualified.
  • Holder of a UK ATCO Licence.
  • A minimum of 5 years of total operational experience, with at least 3 years served at a UK airport.
