Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Excellence: Assist in designing optimal reinsurance broking solutions, negotiate with markets to secure the best quality, coverage, and price, create and review reinsurance documentation for clients, and mentor junior team members.
  • Client & Market Engagement: Coordinate project work for clients ahead and after renewal period, build and maintain strong relationships with clients and underwriters, stay informed about reinsurance market trends, and represent Howden Re professionally.
  • Strategic Planning & Growth: Develop and implement team strategies, identify and seize opportunities to expand the International Treaty team's portfolio, support new business initiatives, and participate in management meetings.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee and collaborate on administrative and processing tasks to maintain high service standards and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in reinsurance broking, focusing on P&C reinsurance.
  • Advanced understanding of the renewal and production cycle for our client and prospects.
  • Advanced understanding of reinsurance products mechanics and strong interest in reinsurance optimisation.
  • Specific Product area knowledge and in-depth understanding of related wordings.
  • Deep understanding of reinsurance market dynamics and product knowledge.
  • Strong customer focus and communication skills.
  • High level of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications (ACII, FCA Level 1 preferred but not required).
