Job SummaryWe are seeking an Associate Director to drive the growth of our International Treaty business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for client placements, proposal management, and complex reinsurance account handling. Your expertise will ensure that new business, renewals, and mid-term requirements are met with the best coverage, pricing, and service.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning & Growth: Develop and implement team strategies, identify opportunities to expand the International Treaty team's portfolio, and support new business initiatives and client renewals.
- Technical Excellence: Design optimal reinsurance broking solutions, negotiate with markets to secure the best quality, service, and price, and create and review reinsurance documentation for clients.
- Client & Market Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and underwriters, stay informed about reinsurance market trends to enhance service delivery, and represent Howden Re professionally.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, oversee administrative processes to maintain high service standards, and support team recruitment and development.
- Proven experience in reinsurance broking, focusing on P&C reinsurance.
- Deep understanding of reinsurance market dynamics and product knowledge.
- Strong customer focus and communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of the renewal and production cycle for our client and prospects.
- Specific Product area knowledge and in-depth understanding of related wordings.
- Leadership abilities for coaching and mentoring.
- High level of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines.
- Relevant qualifications (ACII, FCA Level 1 preferred but not required).
