Job Title: Band 6 Surgical Specialist Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Surgical Specialist Dietitian to join our team at Guy's Hospital. The successful candidate will provide a dietetic service for lung, breast, and neurological cancers, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to support patients throughout their cancer journey.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a dietetic service that aligns with national priorities outlined by the NHS Long Term Plan and NHS Cancer Programme.
  • Provide nutrition and dietetic management for oncology patients receiving treatment by the oncology and haematology teams.
  • Be responsible for haematology and oncology patients receiving oral, enteral, and parenteral nutrition support on the Guys Hospital site, as well as in outpatient clinics.
  • Provide dietetic input into Multidisciplinary outpatient Clinics and lead in providing expert Dietetic input into agreed medical and surgical areas for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Communicate and liaise with other agencies regarding nutrition-related prescriptions and the nutritional management of patients within and outside the trust.
Requirements:
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Broad post-registration experience within Clinical Dietetics.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Experience in specialist area - oncology.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of £44,806 to £53,134 a year, pro rata, and a supportive working environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a well-established team of 8 specialist dietitians and 1 dietetic assistant, and participate in departmental developments and continuing professional development meetings.
