Position Overview

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and oversee critical projects that contribute significantly to our operations. As a Site Safety Controller/Supervisor , you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our work teams across various civil engineering disciplines.

This position involves traveling to multiple sites to manage reactive maintenance projects along the rail infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with sub-agents and fellow supervisors to guarantee that all tasks are executed safely, on time, and meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Site Safety Controller/Supervisor , your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all work is carried out safely and to the highest quality standards, aligning with client expectations across a diverse portfolio of projects, including drainage, earthworks, and structural schemes.
  • Leading a multi-skilled workforce comprising both direct and agency personnel, as well as specialized subcontractors.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation and records on-site, and effectively communicating this information to the General Foreman/Agent.
  • Delivering comprehensive briefings regarding TBS/WPP/COSS protocols at the beginning of each shift, ensuring clarity and understanding among all team members.
  • Monitoring performance against production targets and providing reports on progress.
  • Understanding contractual obligations with clients and suppliers, and managing any variations appropriately.
  • Taking responsibility for site-level safety performance, including the integration of HSQE planning into work activities and ensuring adequate resources are available.
  • Leading by example to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification.
  • Proven experience in civil engineering and rail projects.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
  • COSS/ES competencies.
  • First aid certification.
  • A valid UK driving license.
  • Familiarity with SSOW planning and implementation (preferred).
  • SSSTS certification (preferred).
