Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs in an outstanding primary school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the staff team to contribute to students' EHCPs and individual needs academically and socially
  • Plan and deliver interventions alongside teachers
  • Support in managing the behavior of pupils while they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced
  • De-escalate situations within the classroom in the correct way, certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered
  • Report any safeguarding concerns using the school's referral procedures and safeguarding policies
Requirements:
  • Previous school experience or a supportive role, such as a support worker, youth worker, teaching assistant, carer, intervention, or tutor
  • Ability to work with children with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive environment
