Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Commercial Strategist to become a vital part of Galliford Try's Water division. This role encompasses the oversight of project financials, risk assessment, contract administration, and team leadership. You will work closely with Operational Leads to ensure robust project controls are established, engage in pre-construction and bidding processes, manage procurement, and uphold governance standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating precise monthly financial reports.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute regional business strategies
  • Oversee the commercial dimensions of projects
  • Formulate procurement strategies
  • Manage subcontractor agreements
  • Supervise scheduling and material procurement
  • Negotiate terms with subcontractors
  • Administer contract modifications
  • Compile commercial performance reports
  • Inspire and lead the commercial team
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Empower and guide teams
  • Engage with stakeholders effectively
  • Comply with legal standards
  • Make pivotal commercial decisions
  • Mentor and develop commercial personnel

Qualifications and Experience:

In-depth understanding of contract types
- Proficient IT capabilities
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Demonstrated success in commercial oversight
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Professional credentials such as MCIOB or MRICS
- Relevant academic background or experience in a commercial setting
- CSCS certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
