Electrical Project Manager Job Description

Our client, a well-established building services company, is seeking a skilled Electrical Project Manager to join their team for an exciting pharmaceutical plant project with an MEP value of £6M. This role will be based in Moreton, Wirral, and offers a unique opportunity to be part of a company with a strong reputation in the industry.

The Role and Responsibilities

The Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for managing the electrical side of new build office and laboratory facilities for approximately 200 staff. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing medical gases systems
  2. Coordinating Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Air Conditioning (AC) systems
  3. Overseeing clean water and deionized water systems
  4. Implementing intelligent lighting and daylight dimming systems
  5. Managing general electrical and mechanical services

The project is currently in the build phase under a JCT contract with a well-regarded main contractor. The Electrical Project Manager will be client-facing, working closely with the client on-site and managing the project from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Electrical Project Manager with extensive experience managing projects of a similar scale and complexity. Key requirements include:

  1. Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager, preferably on large-scale commercial projects
  2. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  3. Excellent client management and communication skills
  4. Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage project budgets effectively
  5. Ability to demonstrate a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
