**Controls & Instrumentation Engineer**

**St Neots**

**£50,000 - £55,000 (OTE £65,000 +)**

My client are part of a multinational corporation, they have sites across the UK and are seeking a controls and instrumentation engineer to join their growing team in St Neots. The role will be predominately the design from scratch of the controls and drivesfor bespoke client projects to then be commissioned on site.

**Responsibilities - Controls & Instrumentation Engineer**
- To take accountability for producing electrical, electronic and turnkey controls systems designs and quotations for defined industry sector(s).
- Preparing detailed quotations, specifications and special test procedures as required, and presenting this to customers
- Specifying/designing/documenting and (typically) developing correct software for machine control systems. This will include PLC/HMI/control system software for both the client and other manufacturers hardware
- Reading customer enquiry specifications and determining electrical/electronic control system architectures including, eg relay control logic, motor starter control circuits, circuit protection schemes, PLC systems and networks, transducer specifications,transducer interfacing, closed loop control system schemes, etc

**Experience/Qualifications - Controls & Instrumentation Engineer**
- Minimum of HND level qualification in controls engineering discipline OR significant relevant technical/engineering experience.
- Experience with electro-hydraulic control system design including PLC systems and software, instrumentation and closed loop control (PID).
- Proficient in languages such as VBA, C+/++, visual basic, labview, MATlab, CANbus, PROFIbus
- PLC Programming skills and skills in other software development languages
- Experience with Control system simulation (beneficial but not mandatory).
- Understanding of electro-hydraulic system design.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical standards, eg EN60204, BS7671, EN13894
