You’ll join a four-year programme, with a wide range of learning opportunities between onsite training, college attendance and external training courses.
National Gas Transmission is the backbone of Britain’s energy system today and will play a leading role in the transition to a clean energy future that works for every home and business. We own and operate the national gas network, delivering energy to where it is needed in every part of the country.
We keep households warm and underpin their quality of life. For business, we fuel growth and innovation, and we are looking to the future by developing the hydrogen transmission system of tomorrow.
You’ll join the National Gas Transmission Ops team at Huntingdon, one of our operational sites around the country. Working with a larger team you’ll maintain pipelines, terminals and compressors to ensure the safe, secure and reliable operation of the gas network. The gas network that keeps our homes warm and our lights on.
At the end of your four-year programme, you’ll receive your level 3 qualification in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering. Then you’ll take your first operational job at National Gas and start your career.
You’ll need to pass at least 3 GCSEs in Maths, English and Science, at level 4 or above or equivalent. You’ll also need to be able to display good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
