**EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW**
Our Network Control team have an opportunity for you to join as our Network Controller 16/7.
You will be responding to emergency asset failures, identifying solutions, while making sure that water quality and supply is not compromised.
You will be actively managing the supply of water to 7.4 million customers to the high standard both we & our regulatory require.
We are looking for someone who can make quick informed decisions, has a strong work ethic and takes pride in working in a fast paced and challenging reactive environment.
This is a 16/7 role, where you will be working a rotational shift pattern, comprising of Morning, Afternoon and Day shift with an element of Standby cover too.
Key accountabilities will include:
- To provide expert technical advice when we are managing Water Supply or Water Quality incidents.
- Using multiple data sources, you will identify how best to move water around our supply and distribution systems to meet challenging and changing water supply demands throughout the year.
- To develop plans to minimise the impact of asset failure on our customers.
- By using hydraulic modelling, you will create plans to minimise the water supply & water quality risk when we need to carry out repair and maintenance work
- To own the work stream during supply interruptions / water quality events, to diagnose, control & restore service to our customers
- To identify opportunities to improve our water supply and distribution system resilience.
- Communicating your decisions with confidence to other teams within our company in a clear and concise manner.
- Building relationships & influencing other teams the role interacts with by giving crucial information to get the job done correctly first time with mínimal disruption.
This is a shift-based role which includes working weekends and bank holidays so a very flexible approach will be required.
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**
You will also need to be comfortable with the use of mathematics to support and explain your decision making as well as having excellent communication skills and experience of influencing stakeholders at all levels. It would also be beneficial if you have knowledge of water supply & distributions systems, working within in a control centre environment and general plumbing/heating engineering experience.
