Hours: Up to full time (37.5hrs) - mainly Monday to Friday 9-5, but happy to discuss part time and / or flexible working options.

**Salary**: £41,663 FTE

Location: Russell House, Huddersfield

**OVERVIEW OF ROLE**

To do that, our multi-professional team strives to continuously improve collaborative practice and deliver clinical excellence, with families at the heart of everything we do.

As clinical education lead, youll develop and deliver induction, education and training programmes across our care team and externally, to help them enhance their competencies, develop their skills and continue to improve their evidence-based practice.

Youll also play a key role in researching new best practice developments, helping us to build innovative and pioneering services that address unmet needs within the community.

Youll be a registered childrens nurse with previous teaching experience, as well as experience of clinical audit, evidence-based research or quality assurance programmes and evidence of post-qualifying continuing professional development. Great at building relationships, youll be a fantastic communicator with excellent leadership and team-building skills.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Role Summary**

Our vision is to deliver pioneering care through pregnancy, childhood and loss, wherever families need us, whatever the future holds. This role supports our vision by focusing on the development of a multi-professional team that strives to improve collaborative practice, with families at the centre of everything we do.

You will develop, deliver and evaluate high quality multi-professional education and training programmes with the specific aim to continuously improve evidence based practice. You will spend a significant amount of time working alongside the care team at Russell House and in family homes to develop care team knowledge, skill and competence.

Your input will ensure that Forget Me Not Childrens Hospice is recognised as a centre of excellence for the delivery of specialist childrens palliative and end of life care. Also, youll be integral in our trailblazing strategy and transformation work.

**Main Duties and Key Responsibilities**
- Develop education and training programmes that result in the care team achieving knowledge, skill and competence in meeting families needs and within the scope of practice.
- Assess the learning needs of new members of the care team (including clinical staff) and ensure a comprehensive induction package is delivered.
- Act as a mentor/preceptor for staff during probation and beyond as required.
- Work with the care team to ensure clinical competence.
- Through the regular working and observing of the care team, identify gaps in knowledge and skills, referring to the Education Framework and RCN competencies.
- Lead on a training and development plan to address gaps identified.
- Support advanced level autonomous practice in palliative and end of life care for children (including clinical assessment, diagnosis, care planning and delivery and evaluation).
- Support development of pathways, policy and procedures to ensure consistent standards of practice
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development informed by learners, others in the team and own reflections and uses the evaluation to inform future practice.
- Work in partnership with the senior care team and contracts & commissioning manager to identify and develop training packages, which will form part of an external training portfolio.
- Be agile across the care team covering shifts if required and being part of the senior care on call rota.
- Ensure effective clinical governance arrangements, including the audit and evaluation of practice in line with national standards and frameworks are adhered to.
