Middlesbrough Council are seeking to appoint Senior Residential Edge of Care Workers, where you will have the opportunity to channel your skills and passions into a rewarding career.

We have a fabulous opportunity to work in our residential homes for children and young people aged between 8 and 18 years old who for a variety of reasons, cannot currently live with their families.

Are you passionate, motivated, have a restorative approach and excellent verbal and written skills? Do you have experience of supervising staff, creating care plans and safety plans? Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people in a similar setting? If so we would like to hear from you.

You will be committed to providing a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the home provides a service. This will include working with children with challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional needs.

Applicants must:

- Have a recognised QCF level 4 diploma in Residential Care in working with children and young people or an equivalent qualification. Or a willingness to undertake._
- Experience of managing challenging situations._
- Have a full UK Driving License. _
- Experience of partnership working._
- Have an understanding of child development and challenging behaviour._
- A positive attitude and the ability to work with children and young people in a trauma informed way._
- Meet the essential criteria of the job description and personal specification._
