We have an exciting opportunity for talented communications professional to join our team at the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, based at the RCP in London.

As the communications and engagement coordinator, you play a key role in the delivery of our communications strategy, individual projects and initiatives to support our internal and external stakeholders. You will provide close support to the head of communications and the communications and engagement manager, as well as other members of the wider Federation team to manage and grow our digital and social media channels, engage with, and respond to, our stakeholders and audiences via direct communications. You will be adept at responding to and managing high pressure and fast-developing situations. You will assist in producing key messages and engaging content; ensuring they are shared through the correct channels at the right time. You will help to manage our social media presence, web, digital, multimedia and printed communications to our diverse range of stakeholders, as well as communications via 3rd party portals. You will also help implement and monitor our internal communications and engagement plan for our staff. You will be able to evaluate and learn from what we’ve done to drive improvements in our communications. This role is an excellent opportunity for you to develop your portfolio of skills as a communications professional.

The Federation develops and delivers services to support doctors at every stage of their careers, including:

- Continuing professional development for senior physicians (CPD)
- Examinations (including the MRCP(UK) diploma)
- Training (through the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board - JRCPTB).

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Under the direction of the head of communications and communication and engagement manager to monitor, develop and maintain the Federation websites, ensuring content is relevant, up-to-date and timely.
- Working closely with the communications and engagement manager and international partnerships coordinator to undertake marketing activities and projects in line with Federation international strategy and communications and engagement strategy.
- Commissioning and taking photographs/video for promotional and marketing purposes, liaising with suppliers as required.
- Creating video and other multimedia content for use across all digital channels.
- Providing support and expertise to the CPD and international teams to ensure communications to their stakeholders are timely and of high quality.
- Taking a leading role in the monitoring of social media and the management enquiries, ensuing that these are delegated and responded to a satisfactory conclusion within SLAs.
- Working with designers to produce creative digital and print assets to support the Federation’s communication and marketing goals.
- Supporting the development and delivery of the internal communications strategy including the conducting and analysing of staff surveys, ensuring the cascade of information to staff and updating intranet pages.
- Producing and presenting reports on communications performance and effectiveness for the head of communications and the wider organisation.

**Your experience and skills will include**:

- A communications or marketing degree or relevant knowledge and experience within a marketing, communications, or stakeholder engagement environment
- Knowledge and experience in using a range of communications and engagement tools
- Experience of updating websites using a content management system
- Strong social media skills and experience in a professional setting
- Demonstrable copywriting skills for a range of communication channels in both print and digital
- Experience in writing communications plans, particularly in targeting specific audiences
- Able to work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues to produce communication content
- Good organisational and planning skills

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (to include Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint as a minimum
