Activities & Experience Lead

We’re looking for an experienced Activity and guest experience lead to help deliver on our vision to be a leader in forest-based experiences. You’ll own our activities and on-location seasonal strategy to drive guest satisfaction and ancillary revenue. You’ll play a part in building our brand too, through curating experiences to connect our guests with nature, delivering on our brand essence, Forest Feeling. They’ll be management of some external relationships, such as third-party activity providers, strategic partners such as wildlife trusts and brand partners who can add value to our experience.
You’ll bring our brand to life through best-in-class outdoor and indoor activities, and seasonal complimentary experiences and events to drive footfall to our café and bar, the Forest Retreat. You’ll develop our Forest Ranger product too, working closely with our Ecology and Environment Lead to align with our guest citizen goals.
You’ll have experience in using guest data and market insights to build new activity concepts and experience initiatives across all of our locations. You’ll understand what good service looks like too, working closely with our front-line teams to maintain high customer delivery standards.

Ideally, you’ll have the flexibility to take fresh challenges in your stride and the ability to flex your approach for a wide range of different audiences — no two days are the same at Forest Holidays
**_Responsibilities_**
**Strategy**
- Own the activities development strategy and core KPIs
- Own and develop the seasonal plan
- Lead on cross-business working groups to generate new ideas and innovate
- Monitor the competition and market trends
- Develop an innovation pipeline to test proof of concepts and build business cases for implementation
- Identify gaps in our offering against our core personas and develop opportunities to fill them
- Own the activities budget
- Report on progress against KPI’s to the wider business
**Activities and experiences**
- Review and develop the activities offering across the estate
- Develop a programme of always on initiatives to drive footfall to our Forest Retreats
- Own the Forest Ranger product, developing it to be a core USP for our brand, working closely with the Ecology and Environment lead to align activity with our guest citizenship goals
- Create and deliver a seasonal plan that includes but is not limited to, FOC experiences such as marshmallow toasting, seasonal décor, season-specific activity such as easter egg hunts
- Set service standards for the delivery of activities and events and KPIs to monitor performance against
- Monitor and review activities through guest feedback and regular site visits
**Trusted partners**
- Lead on relationships with third party activity suppliers
- Ensure that third party activities compliment the activities mix
- Identify where appropriate, opportunities to bring third-party activities in-house
- Co-ordinate all relevant documentation (including but not limited to: Service Level Agreements, Liability Insurance, Risk Assessments)
- Negotiate commission rates
- Work with strategic partners to enhance guest experience, such as sessions with local Wildlife trusts
- Work with brand partners to explore value add opportunities such as product sampling and giveaways
**Commercial**
- Monitor performance through the ancillary trading huddle
- Ensure that new products are supported by a commercial launch plan
- Work with the brand and web trading team to ensure that content and photography is accurate and up to date
- Assist in the creation of bundles and offers to support trade
