Alcohols Limited is a chemical distribution company which was formed in 1955 as a subsidiary of The Palmer Group. It is a private family company founded in 1805 which is still family owned today.

This role will be based at our new £22m facility in Rugby based at the Europark just off the A5 which has recently opened. (A5 Watling Street, Clifton upon Dunsmore, Rugby Warwickshire. CV23 0AJ)

**The role is offered as a 12 month’s temporary contract.**

**The Opportunity**

This role involves supporting all functions within a technical and quality team operating in the chemicals sector providing support on document administration, and accessing and analysing technical data for internal and external customers. You will also support the handing of technical queries for internal and external customers.

There will be opportunity to gain experience within a quality control analytical laboratory as well as working with other functions in the team to deliver quality improvements and set sustainability targets.

This role will suit a data driven individual with strong Microsoft Office skills particularly Microsoft Excel with some experience of analytical techniques such as gas chromatography, Karl Fisher, densitometer, and titration gained either in an industrial or educational setting

**What you will contribute**
- Follow the company initiatives for Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) (e.g. H&S Policy, Golden Rules) and exhibit SHE leadership through own behaviours.
- Support the update, review and writing of technical documentation.
- Collate & analyse information for ESG, Quality and general data for internal and external reporting.
- Provide support to Technical team on projects and day-to-day administrative tasks
- Provide support for compliance audits (BSI, customer audits) as required
- Be skilled in standard analytical techniques and provide support for QC lab testing as required
- Responsible for promptly raising technical issues, such as test failures/deviations and equipment issues, to the lab supervisor or chemist

**What you will bring**
- A scientific A-level, grade B or equivalent. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Some industrial experience, ideally in a Quality Control Laboratory or chemical business.
- Experience of data gathering, calculations and reporting for ESG topics e.g. Scope 1,2,3 GHG, plastic packaging is desirable.
- Practical/proactive problem solver and flexible to support a dynamic, customer driven business.
- Tenacious, thorough, determined, energetic and driven with attention to detail
- Well organised and able to assimilate new information quickly and take innovative appraoch to solve complex queries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, providing both customers and internal stakeholders with clear concise information to provide positive and beneficial interaction.
- Proficient IT skills. Able to collate data from multiple sources into useable documentation
- Comfortable with ambiguous tasks and topics, and be flexible to be able to work on multiple, varied tasks.
- Quality conscious and well organised, able to respond quickly to requests for information or support.
- Team player and customer orientated.
