Colas Rail UK: Technical Support Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Techincal Support Engineer to join our team at Colas Rail UK.

The estimated salary for this position is around £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

  • Carry out periodic inspections of traction and rolling stock to ensure compliance with defined instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide technical knowledge to aid fault finding and diagnosis, supporting Colas Rail UK and its fleets.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop written reports on vehicle condition and trends.
  • Conduct special checks and assist in carrying out modifications to maintain the quality and safety of our fleet.
  • Support the maintenance teams with technical guidance and assistance.

About You:

  • Hold a degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant engineering specialism or possess significant operational experience.
  • Be an apprentice-trained engineer or have relevant engineering qualifications.
  • Possess a full driving license and be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Have experience in rolling stock maintenance, quality management, RAMS, and asset management systems.
  • Demonstrate excellent planning skills, analytical abilities, and clear communication skills.
