We are looking for a team of caring adults who can be understanding and compassionate for the children we are caring for, as well as the resilience and strength that it takes to manage the behaviours that can come from experiencing trauma and having learning difficulties.

**The role**

To be a Residential Support Worker, there are some skills and characteristics you must have - otherwise this is not the career for you. These include: compassion, empathy, resilience, hard-working, genuine want to help people, team player, good initiative, able to dynamically risk assess, goals to learn and develop within the industry.

The role of a Residential Support Worker is to support the children in every aspect of their lives, including ensuring the environment is clean and safe. You will be required to support the children in: getting up and ready for school, transporting them to and from school, cooking meals, attending health appointments, taking part in activities, going to family time, learning independence skills. Other responsibilities include: daily paperwork to monitor the child’s progress, cleaning the home, health and safety checks, attending meetings and care planning for the child, as well as working with the entire team to ensure the children are effectively safeguarded.

We are acting-parents for these children, and our most important role is to be the stable, emotional support for them - for them to have adults that they can trust to act in their best interest and understand them. We want our children to feel safe, supported and cared for - this all starts at the Residential Support Workers.

**Requirements**:
**Essential**
- Aged 21 or over (for statutory reasons)
- Full driving licence
- Experience working with children
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literate

**Desirable**
- Experience in a residential children’s home setting
- Experience working with children with learning difficulties
- Level 3 diploma in Children and Young People (if you do not have this you must be willing to complete the qualification through our training provider)

**Shifts and Pay**

As a Residential Support Worker, you would be required to work shifts and complete sleep-ins. The shifts will either be:
08:00 - 23:00 or 08:00 - 23:00 sleep (finishing at 10:30am the following morning)

Pay rate: £10.95 - £11.45 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.95-£11.45 per hour
