**About us**

We are a family-run company, with a LD Residential Children’s Home in the Tile Hill area of Coventry. Our aim is to create a safe, happy, healing, family environment for 4 children between the ages of 8-17 years with learning difficulties, who are unable to live with their families and may have experienced various trauma.

We are looking for a team of caring adults who can be understanding and compassionate for the children we are caring for, as well as the resilience and strength that it takes to manage the behaviours that can come from experiencing trauma and having learning difficulties.

**The Role**

The role of a Senior Residential Support Worker is to lead the team in supporting the children in every aspect of their lives with various duties:

- It is crucial that the senior/shift leader is organised and has the ability effectively oversee and lead the home when the Manager and Deputy are not there:

- Support the children in range of activities including school, health appointments, family time, learning independence skills.
- Planning the day’s shift, daily paperwork to monitor the child’s progress, cleaning the home,
- Attending meetings and care planning for the child
- Leading shift de-briefs and handovers as well as working with the entire team to ensure the children are effectively safeguarded.
- To ensure that young people are safeguarded at all times within a residential setting.
- Ensuring that documents such as Ofsted notifications, incident reports etc. are completed and accurate.

We are acting-parents for these children, and our most important role is to be the stable, emotional support for them - for them to have adults that they can trust to act in their best interest and understand them. We want our children to feel safe, supported and cared for and the Senior Residential Support works are essential in achieving this.

**Requirements**:
**Essential**
- Aged 21 or over (for statutory reasons)
- Full driving licence
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literate
- Experience in a residential children’s home setting

**Desirable**
- Experience working with children with learning difficulties
- Level 3 diploma in Children and Young People (if you do not have this you must be willing to complete the qualification through our training provider)

**Shifts and Pay**

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you would be required to work shifts and complete sleep-ins. The shifts will either be:
08:00 - 23:00 or 08:00 - 23:00 sleep (finishing at 10:30am the following morning)

Pay rate: £12.95 - £14.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (preferred)
