Senior Domiciliary Care Assistant-1

Key Results
- Support the Domiciliary Care Lead in the day to day running of a comprehensive care and support service including assessing residents’ care needs and formulating care packages.
- Maintains record and consistently works in line with regulatory bodies - for example but not exclusive to GDPR, CQC, HSE, Local Authority expectations etc.
- Support the Lead in ensuring shifts are covered and worked; rota coordination; payroll; timesheets and signing off care certificates.
- Act as the ‘go-to’ for a variety of resident care package related queries including complex care - general customer service.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across and externally to St Monica Trust.
- Support care team with care, domestic and laundry duties (complex care, meds, personal care, mobility etc.). Fulfil rostered on-call duties.
- Deputise for Dom Care Lead when required.

- Oversee Bank and Agency workers, allocating work and general line management responsibilities.

Other Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Experience of working within a nursing home, hospital, extra care housing of domiciliary care service.
- Understanding of the needs of older people, including dementia and complex care needs.
- Good level of IT skills (Microsoft packages).
- Health and Safety risk assessment and Safeguarding knowledge and experience.
- Health and Social Work legislation and CQC requirements.
- Care Certificate.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in social care.
- Experience of supervising others.
- Experience of electronic care planning.
- First Aid, food hygiene and Manual Handling
