We are looking for an organised and driven individual who is interested in working in a senior wellbeing role, leading a team to provide high level welfare support and advice to students across all Departments in the Faculty of Natural Sciences (FoNS).

The student experience we provide is a substantial contributor to our success and we are aiming to further strengthen our provision by addressing the wellbeing and mental health challenges that students face. This new position has been created to lead and develop wellbeing advice and support across the Faculty’s departments, for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The role has been created as part of an exciting new phase within the College, providing more resource and a stronger commitment to supporting student mental health and wellbeing.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for leading a team of Wellbeing Advisers across the Faculty, providing a high-quality advice service. You will work with staff in Departments to enhance student support, contributing to a more positive student experience. You will work closely with central services to develop and deliver student wellbeing initiatives. You will be able to work without close supervision, as well as being a strong team player.

**Essential requirements**:

- Educated to degree level standard or equivalent
- Experience of leading an advice service or team within a further or higher education setting, with a focus on wellbeing support
- Experience of providing clinical-type supervisory support to staff involved in supporting students
- Experience of managing wellbeing support to students in a professional context
- An excellent understanding of safeguarding principles
- An excellent understanding of data protection guidelines and of the complexities involved in the management of confidential and sensitive information
- Experience of planning and delivering staff and/ or student training in wellbeing-related areas
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience of handling complex student casework and the potential risk associated with this, including identification and maintenance of appropriate personal boundaries
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with a methodical approach to their responsibilities and with attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure, with an ability to multi-task and prioritise workflow independently; as well as showing initiative
- Ability to show empathy and demonstrate an understanding approach towards the needs of students

**Further information**:
The role is full time and open-ended. You will be based at the College’s South Kensington Campus, although there will be a requirement to visit other sites.

Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working can be discussed at interview.
