A key element of the Educational Technology (EdTech) team’s ambition is to become a leading Centre of Excellence in delivering digitally enhanced, online and blended learning programmes. This ambition includes supporting the development and innovation in digital educational technologies and pedagogies for online teaching.

The team works to established processes to design, build and innovate STEM focussed digital education experiences at pace. The role holder must have a good level of experience as an instructional designer combined with project management and supervisory experience to support timely delivery of high quality digital learning content and assessments.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- You will collaborate with Academic Staff/Teaching Fellows to facilitate pedagogic discussion of their modules, providing instructional design advice and guidance to increase the number of modules that incorporate active, online and blended design approaches. You will ensure redesigned modules provide an engaging and compelling learning experience using graphics, web content and/or media that is in line with the modules’ intended learning outcomes. You will also work with students and elected student representatives to include their perspective in the pedagogic transformation process so as to enhance the leaning student experience.

**Essential requirements**:

- Degree or equivalent qualification preferably in the field of Instructional/Educational Design, Computer Sciences, Maths, Engineering, Science and/or Education.
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience as an instructional designer with proficiency in live (ILT, Virtual) and asynchronous (eLearning) instructional design modalities.
- Proven experience in overseeing creative design process, concept, graphic design and innovation development.
- Experience of working with academic and teaching staff to design and develop eLearning resources and technology. This should include delivering workshops to academic/teaching staff on design/development of eLearning resources and technologies.
- The ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously and drive these through to completion, including requirements gathering and task management.
- Specialist knowledge of sound pedagogy-based teaching and assessment methods and techniques in STEM disciplines in higher education, preferably in the general engineering area.
- Knowledge of the evidence base relating to teaching and assessment methods and techniques generally and within specific STEM disciplines.
- Creative ability to express complex topics clearly and concisely, in an engaging manner that will resonate with each audience.
- Strong influence-management, needs analysis, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to convert technical or complex information into easily used and understandable text and illustrations
- Strong project management skills using established techniques and methods.
- Excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritise own work.
- Skilled in the use of different forms of media technology.
- Creative mind and storytelling skills.

**Further information**:
This is an open ended appointment. Interviews for this role are scheduled for w/c 9th January 2023
- The College is currently trialling a Work Location Framework until early 2023. Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite.
