This is an exciting new role which is essential to the ongoing success of the National STEM Learning Centre. The role of Project Coordinator will hold responsibility for the coordination of an appropriate, continually improving portfolio of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) professional development support which impacts positively on young people, schools and colleges, educators, and ultimately the UK economy.

Working closely with others across STEM Learning and the wider environment, this role is a key driving force in achieving STEM Learning's vision of a world-leading STEM education for all young people across the UK through effective and innovative use of the National STEM Learning Centre (NSLC).

**The Role**:
**This role will have specific focus on**:

- Coordination of an integrated and evolving S,T,E & M CPD offer within the context of the National STEM Learning Centre which supports achievement of educational outcomes and supports the organisations financial sustainability.
- Ensuring complementarity and integration with all wider National STEM Learning Network support, including in the devolved nations.
- Contract and partnership management of internally and externally led activities, ensuring delivery against KPIs, budgetary constraints and financial obligations.
- Coordination and management of interdependencies, including oversight of risks and issues and appropriate mitigation and remediation activity.
- Working closely with STEM Learning internal teams (e.g. Subject experts, Network team), and external partners (e.g. Primary Science Teaching Trust, Science Learning Partnerships, Computing Hubs, etc.) to ensure an appropriate, high quality programme of content which is delivered by professional development leaders adhering to the highest of standards.

**Key Accountabilities**:
As NSLC Coordinator, the post holder will provide effective operational management, ensuring efficient cost-effective delivery to achieve all KPIs and guarantee educational outcomes.

**This will be achieved through**:

- Providing high quality project management across all aspects of the NSLC portfolio, working with appropriate colleagues (both internal and external) to ensure that activities achieve appropriate targets - particularly in terms of impact, quality, Value for Money and agreed timelines.
- Driving efficiencies across the NSLC and wider Network offer to ensure a joined-up and simple offer to schools and colleges which guarantees achievement of impact and satisfies funder needs.
- Driving the financial eco-system across the NSLC delivery infrastructure to achieve a sustainable approach.
- Supporting all internal and external partners to achieve effective evaluation of NSLC activity, including formal evaluation, lessons learned, and benefits realisation.
- Working with internal and external colleagues to drive and stimulate engagement of schools, colleges, teachers and other educators with NSLC CPD and associated programmes to improve outcomes for young people, teachers/support staff and schools/colleges.
- Being responsive and proactive in identifying risks and opportunities, working with relevant colleagues to agree appropriate mitigations and remediation actions to support effective operational delivery.
- Organising and monitoring inter-connected projects, working with others to ensure appropriate management information, timely and accurate reporting, and effective decision-making.
- Effective matrix management and coordination of external partners in line with programme requirements. This includes working closely with a variety of teams across STEM Learning and external partners, including those within the National STEM Learning Network.
- Strong coordination of all relevant NSLC activity as appropriate.

**Education**:Honours degree or equivalent plus a relevant professional qualification, preferably in project / programme management.

**Essential experience**:

- Minimum four years' experience in a project / programme management role.
- Experience in managing multiple projects / programmes in a dynamic setting (desirable: in an education or related setting).
- Effective and experienced in stakeholder management - internal and external - including through formal contracts and agreements.
- Effective and experienced in data management and analysis, including its use to support business planning, reporting, and funding proposals.

**Essential Competencies**:

- Highly developed written and oral communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with a positive and enthusiastic manner.
- Ability to influence across all levels, internally and externally.
- Advanced IT skills, as a minimum across all MS tools.
