HMP Thameside is a privately run prison estate located in Southeast London. The prison is a remand establishment operated by Serco Ltd.

We have an opening for a Custody Administrator to join our team.

The purpose of the role is to carry out the administrative processes within the Custody Function at HMP Thameside.

**Some of the main duties for this role are**:
Ensuring that sentences are calculated and updated correctly to prevent any releases in error.
To investigate calculation queries with the court and request relevant paperwork to ensure sentence calculation is correct.
To actively search current and previous periods of custody for any relevant remand time that can count for any period in custody for any non-custodial sentences.
Release on Temporary Licence, Home Detention Curfew and Early Release Scheme eligibility dates are calculated for those who have been sentenced.
Ensure computer and paper records are amended as necessary
All processes are correctly followed, and documentation completed relating to the reception and discharge of offenders.

**What you need to do the job**:
It would be advantageous to have previous experience of working in a related role in a similar admin position or organisation.
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent organisational skills
Able to cope under pressure
Team worker, with ability to work alone.
