We have an exciting opportunity for a** Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinator - Police Custody** who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users affected by cuckooing and anti-social behaviour (ASB) as a result of addiction, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

Our Camden service is multi-disciplinary, that consist of a service manager, consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, health care assistants, recovery staff, volunteers, administrators and peer mentors, all focused on bringing the individuals using our services the best possible support & interventions.

**Hours**: 37.5

**Salary**: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 dependent on experience Plus Inner London Weighting £4,072.06

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:
The Police Custody worker will act as the main coordinator providing comprehensive assessments; coordinate the support plan from police custody by liaising with relevant agencies such as probation and treatment services.- Work as part of a team to identify people in police custody who have a history of substance misuse and who are not in treatment. Actively engage this cohort to encourage those not in service to seek support.- Act as a Single Point of Contact in police custody suite for drug and alcohol related treatment questions.- To support information sharing and shared processes between all relevant partners to affect a safe, seamless and successful plan from police custody.- To work with local communities including criminal justice partners to ensure the provision of naloxone and overdose prevention information is provided at the point of release.- Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
- Support criminal justice services to better understand local drug and alcohol support, treatment
pathways, harm minimisation approaches and provide information on the suitability of treatment
interventions.
- Delivering integrated work with key partners and embedding "Team around Me" approach in joint working approaches to support this cohort.
- Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
- Develop rolling drug and alcohol training programme for NPS staff

**About you**:

- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills.
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills.
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
- Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others.
- Work in collaboration with our in-house group-work and employment specialists to support people struggling with addiction.
- Have the passion to make a difference in the lives of those you support, creating respectful and safe environments where people who use our services feel able to make lasting and significant change.- Have the ability to connect quickly and meaningfully with new people and be confident supporting those facing acute difficulties.
