Under the direction of the Flight Controller assist in call
flow management across the region liaising with the
111/WAST shift lead
Collate GPOOHs position across the region and
communicate to GPs, Hub Clinicians and bases
Co-ordinate with bases across the region to open
appointment slots
Liaise with GPs to request GPs manage calls on the
queue (across the region)
Liaise with remote GPs to manage workload (across the
region)
Communicate with bases and keep an overview on the
queues to provide reports on level of on shift escalation
reporting to the Flight Controller as to what action is
deemed necessary
Complete shift reports including levels of escalation
actions taken
Identify number of calls waiting before Hub closes
Book patient appointments from the Treatment Centre
Holding Queues (TCHQ)
The post holder will be expected to manage their own
work as there will be minimum supervision
Ensuring correct and accurate data entry onto Adastra system

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

To carry out duties, as required, to improve the efficiency and quality of service provided to patients

Comply with Health Board policy

Be familiar with and comply with Health Board policies and procedures, including:
Manual Handling
Fire
Violence and Aggression
Data protection
Recording of incidents onto DATIX
Knowledge of Adastra the GPOOH computer system, policies and procedures relevant to own area. Will be required to obtain working knowledge of the above systems and act as trainer to other members of staff

To provide ongoing staff training as required
Knowledge of 111/GPOOHs standards

Administration
The post holder will work autonomously within their own work area, where there are clearly defined occupational policies

Plan and organise own workload, using analytical skills to resolving routine queries on own initiative

Operate computer system(s) in place within the department

Answering and dealing with non-clinical telephone enquiries from patients, relatives, General Practitioners, wards and departments, healthcare professionals, and members of the public

Participate with clerical duties in the event of a Major/Serious Incident

Use all equipment in an appropriate and competent manner, ensure defective equipment is removed from service and reported. Deal with defective equipment in appropriate manner

Have due regard for the Directorate budget by utilising stock and equipment in a cost effective manner

Faxing of prescriptions and general filing and photocopying

To work in line with Health Board Major Incident policy

Implement procedures for own work area and will propose changes to working practices or procedures for own area

Comfort calls to patients as and when required
