**The Company**

Songa Ship Management Ltd. (SSM) is a global ship management company operating as part of the Norweigan Blystad Group. Founded as the Technical Management branch of Blystad Shipping (USA) Inc. in Houston, Texas, in 1995 to manage vessels owned by Mr Arne Blystad, moved to Westport, CT, in 2000. In 2000 Blystad Shipmanagement Ltd. rebranded to Songa Ship Management Ltd. in 2006 after the company moved to its new home in Paisley, Scotland, and currently employs 57 onshore staff. Songa Crew Management Ltd. was founded in 2016 and employees around 1250 offshore staff, occupying vessels that trade worldwide.

**Role & Responsibilities**
- **Your duties will include**:_

As an Accounts Assistant (non-qualified) at Songa Shipmanagement Ltd., reporting to the Finance Manager and responsible for the daily processing of key accounts functions such as bank, purchase ledger and group intercompany reconciliations. You will also be responsible for elements of the month end process, preparing management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly expenditure reports
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Processing Purchase Ledger invoices
- Maintaining Purchase Ledger
- Posting month-end journals
- Agreeing Intercompany balances and reconciliations
- Preparing and processing bank payments and bank reconciliations
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Other ad hoc accounts department administration duties

**Essential skills**
- Previous experience of working in an account’s role.
- Great communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- A proactive and process-driven approach.
- Good levels of numeracy and literacy.
- Team player who works well meeting daily and month end demands.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential._

**Education & Experience Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred (preferred)
- 10+ years’ experience in Accounting or related field (preferred)
