**Job description**:
The Digital Officer sits within Regional Delivery (RD) Central’s Digital and Data Team, which provides multi-disciplinary business management support and advice to colleagues and customers involved in the management of the Defence estate in the RD Central Region.

The post holder will assist the Digital Manager in developing and implementing the region’s system functionality, developing the data held within the system to deliver a common picture understood across the region, DIO and the wider MOD, thus enhancing the ability of the Region Head to deliver their service and support the RD Director to fulfil their responsibilities to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive. This is a key post within RD Central and offers the opportunity to develop a wide range of competences in a fast paced environment working to tight deadlines.

**Person specification**:

- Implementation of MOD and DIO Information system changes in accordance with system standards, enforcing data standards, quality and completeness.
- Ensuring regional staff are competent users of IT systems and associated data standards and ensuring guidance is communicated to all regional staff as appropriate.
- Regularly review guidance documentation for its appropriateness and update in accordance with changes as they are implemented.
- Develop, lead and manage the region-specific delivery elements of the Infrastructure Management Systems (IMS), Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) and Asset Information Management Common Data Environment (AIM CDE) functionality.
- Ensure region-specific IMS requirements are articulated, understood and given the appropriate priority.
- Drive IT system changes applicable to industry partner, MOD and wider government, e.g. Contract, Purchasing & Finance (CP&F).
- Act as RD Central Data Steward.
- Identify data quality issues, where possible resolving internally or work with DIO Data, Analytics & insight (DEx) to resolve.
- Disseminate data quality issues to appropriate stakeholders capable of addressing them.
- Identify root causes of data issues (e.g. system, process, training etc.), and recommend process/system improvements that prevent recurring issues.
- Act as Regional Lead for Information Assurance activity, advising and briefing 1* Regional Head as appropriate.
- Liaise with MOD, Top Level Budget Holders (TLBs), DIO and other stakeholders on all IT system change programmes and plans.
- Actively explore and identify digital improvements and enhancements across the region, assisting, explaining and supporting our staff through implementation of new and utilisation of current digital solutions, to improve and streamline work processes.

**Desirable Experience & Skills**
- Excellent IT skills in the use of Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive and associated information technology.
- Good working knowledge of DIO Infrastructure Management System (IMS), Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) and Asset Information Management Common Data Environment (AIM CDE).
- Good understanding of service delivery business and the interfaces required across the service delivery area with internal and external partners.
- Experience of MS Office Tools.
