**We are looking for a Buyer to join the UK Procurement team for a global research organisation working on the provision of innovative R&D services.**

This is offered on a permanent, full-time basis. We are looking for those who can come into the office near Edinburgh 5 days/week, so you must either live within a commutable distance or be willing to relocate and be happy with office-based work.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will responsible for the timely and cost effective management of inventory replenishment and materials management to the business. Strong relationship building skills is essential for this role as you’ll liaise withsuppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure only approved suppliers are utilised.

Buyer/Purchasing experience in a large (ideally multinational) organisation for materials or inventory categories is necessary for this role.

In addition:

- Ideally, be educated to degree level or possess a CPSM/MCIPS full certification
- Supplier contract and pricing experience (not necessarily negotiation, just having worked with and understanding contracts/TOBs - any RFP/tender experience is a bonus)
- You should have excellent negotiation skills and be able to communicate effectively to all business levels
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel; SAP experience is desirable but not essential
- Great attention to detail
