Guildowns is a forward-thinking university-linked, teaching and training NHS GP group practice in Guildford, providing care across four sites to over 24,000 patients. Our aim is to provide a high standard of health care to patients with courtesy, friendliness and efficiency.

We are seeking a motivated and passionate receptionist to help us to provide our patients with the best possible care. To be successful in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as good attention to detail. Prior experience of working in a busy office or customer service environment is essential.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Answering, forwarding, and screening phone calls
- Answering patient queries via our website
- Booking, amending and cancelling appointments
- Greeting patients and visitors to the practice
- Open up and close the surgery where instructed
- Processing repeat prescription requests
- Undertaking processing of all tasks allocated to the Patient Services Team
- General administrative support to the clinical and management team including scanning, making outbound calls to patients, electronic filing and registration

**Experience, Qualifications & Skills required**:

- Experience of working in an office or customer service environment
- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organised and good attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Good problem solving skills
- Flexibility - ability to work occasional additional hours and across all four Guildford sites
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English

**Pay will be reviewed upon successful completion of a 6 month probationary period.**

**After a years service with the Practice and after meeting set skills criteria, you will have the opportunity to progress to a Senior Patient Services Team Administrator role, where you will have the chance to take on additional responsibilities and pay will be reviewed.**
- Part time and full time considered; Mon-Fri._
