To support the HR team with administrative activity including supporting the on-boarding procedure, to ensure we are compliant in line with our safer recruitment policy.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide support to the Head of HR and HR Officer with the day to day operation of the HR functions and duties.

Issuing offer letters and contracts of employment.
Using our recruitment software to electronically verify compliance documentation (right to work/ID/proof of address) in a timely manner for new colleagues on-boarding.
Escalating any identified onboarding concerns to the HR Officer or Head of HR
The post holder is responsible for all elements of compliance, ensuring processes are completed to a high standard, making the appropriate decisions within the safer recruitment policy
Conducting 12-month compliance/suitability checks for all colleagues
- Act as the first line of contact for HR related enquiries, escalating where appropriate.
- Organise and book training events, liaising with Managers and maintaining a record of training attended.
- Support Nursery Managers with HR enquiries and escalate to the HR Officer as appropriate.
- Provide monthly HR statistics to the HR Officer (including; Sickness Absence and Turnover Data)
- Support the HR Officer with the monthly HR payroll data.
- Support the development and implementation of a new HR system, including data entry maintenance and report running once built.
- Support the Head of HR/HR Officer in employee relations cases e.g. act as a note-taker in meetings (which may require some local travel).
- Respond to employment reference requests for current and previous employees.
- Handle confidential information in line with the company data security protocols.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned.

**Health & Safety**

All employees of Happy Days Nurseries have legal duties under health, safety and welfare legislation while at work to ensure their personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

In recognition of the legal duties imposed upon them, all employees will:

- Co-operate with the Directors, Managers and Supervisors to enable legal duties to be met.
- Comply with ALL requirements of the Happy Days Nurseries HSE Policy and associated procedures.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with, or misuse anything, provided by the Company in the interests of HSE.
- Actively promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the Company.
- Only undertake work for which they have been trained and are authorised, qualified and competent to undertake.
- Not undertake an activity until a suitable and sufficient assessment has been conducted by a competent person and the results communicated to them and others who may be affected by the activity.
- When within the nursery setting, follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- Use and maintain in a serviceable condition all facilities and equipment in accordance with the training provided.
- Use and maintain in accordance with instructions and training given, and report the loss or defect of all personal protective equipment provided by the Company.
- Make themselves aware of all workplace first aid, fire and emergency procedures.
- Raise all matters of concern relating to HSE as they arise to the appropriate responsible person.
- Ensure all accidents are entered in the Company Accident Book for that nursery setting.
- Ensure all accidents and incidents, including near misses, are reported to the Nursery Manager to ensure appropriate investigation can be undertaken.

All employees are to ensure that the Company as their employer is made aware of any form of disablement that is likely to affect their ability to undertake the work they are assigned.

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Previous HR or Recruitment administration experience desirable.
- Qualified to a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent.
- Good, confident and strong communicator.
- Be self-motivated, proactive, keen and passionate to work within an HR team.
- A high attention to detail is required for producing HR statistics.
- Be able to prioritise your work load effectively and always represent Happy Days positively in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Excellent organisational skills and meets deadlines.
- Demonstrates strong initiative and ability to think on your feet.
- Trustworthiness, honesty and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Experience of working with various data bases.
- Team oriented and collaborative with a flexible, can do attitude.

**Desirable, but not essential**:

- Experience of operational HR/Recruitment systems.
- CIPD level 3 or working towards is desirable

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: From £24,000.00 per year
