We are now looking for a Business Change Manager who will be the visible owner of the individual business changes and will be accountable for its successful delivery. The BCM is recognised within the organisation as the key leadership figure in driving thechange forward, ensuring that the change process maintains its focus and the project meets its objectives.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
The Business Change Manager is accountable for allocated change project delivery, ensuring that it meets its objectives and realises the expected benefits.
- Making (or validating) the case for the investment required to set up and run the programme, and fund the transition activities so that the desired benefits are realised
- Ensuring the viability of the business case lifecycle, approving further investment within delegated budget/ levels of authority, or bringing up to the sponsor if these are exceeded
- Crafting and presenting the vision of the project/Alignment to enterprise strategy
- Providing clear leadership and direction throughout the project duration
- Continuously ensuring programme delivers a coherent capability, achieves its strategic outcomes, and realises its benefits
- Providing the first line of approval of the future state blueprint
- Establishing the projects’ governance arrangements and ensuring appropriate assurance is in place alongside the project sponsor.
- Approving project plans and reviewing on a periodic basis so that progress and work is aligned to the overarching business case
- Monitoring the key strategic risks facing the programme - assigning actions and/or calling out to Sponsor where vital
- Commissioning assurance and audit reviews
- Ensuring the efficiency and performance of the project
- Appointing, chairing, and setting priorities
- Leading all aspects of the transition from change delivery to business as usual.
- Formally closing the project
- Stakeholder Management
- Maintaining the work with key senior partners, keeping them engaged and informed
- Maintaining alignment of project with the organisation’s strategic direction through regular interaction with the Sponsor
- Ensuring that senior direct partners have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities
Education & Essential Skills:
- Good Communication skills - at all levels
- Maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external partners
- Engage the sponsor group and gain their dedication to the vision and maintain their ‘buy-in’ throughout the process
- Provide advice and guidance to the programme and project managers as required
- Be honest and transparent about the progress of the programme/project
- Ensure that effective communication processes are in place at all stages of the project
- Strong Negotiation skills
- Influence key stakeholders to take a specific course of action/work towards a particular goal
- Good Project Management skills
- Deploy delegated authority to ensure project objectives are met
- Ensure that the right people, with the right skills and personalities appropriate for the project are selected
- Strong Leadership skills
- Be able to make important decisions in a timely manner
- Ownership for decision making
