Join Our Team as an Employee Relations Advisor

Location: St Pancras Hospital, 4 St Pancras Way, London NW1 0PE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
Trust: Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust
Band: 5/£16.55 per hour
Placement: Temporary, up to 3-months with potential for extension

Are you a proactive and skilled HR professional? We are seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Advisor to join our dynamic team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. Make a difference in the heart of the NHS

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage Employee Relations Caseload: Proactively handle employee relations cases, adhering to Just Culture principles, HR best practices, Trust policies, and national guidelines.
- Provide Expert Guidance: Offer advice and counsel to managers, supervisors, and HR colleagues on employee relations issues, including conduct, capability, complaints, and compliance.
- Address Employee Issues: Respond to employee queries and provide feedback to managers to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- HR Representation: Represent HR in formal processes, such as disciplinary actions, performance reviews, and sickness absence, ensuring decisions align with best practices, legislation, Trust culture, and policies.
- Policy Updates: Assist the ER Specialist/Lead in updating HR policies to maintain compliance with best practices and statutory changes.
- Support Investigations: Help managers ensure investigation documentation is professional, accurate, factual, unbiased, and of high quality for internal hearings, appeals, or legal proceedings.

Skills & Experience Needed:

- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload amid competing demands.
- Good knowledge of employment legislation.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality in all aspects of work.
- Advanced keyboard skills for preparing investigation meeting notes and reports.
- Previous experience working in a HR team within a unionized environment.
- Understanding of formal employment policies and procedures.

This role may require you to show evidence of education to Degree level or Professional HR Qualification or at least 2 years relevant HR experience.
