Administration Clerk - Part time -22.5 hours/week

Elderly Medicine

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our elderly medicine Department.

An eye for detail is essential and the ability to prioritise and organise your workload is also essential.

You will have had recent general clerical and office experience and will have excellent computer skills, good organisation skills, the ability to work effectively and proactively as part of a team and cope well under pressure.

To work as a part of admin team to support a defined team of secretaries, Clinic co-ordinators and reception staff.

Provide an efficient general administration day-to-day support to the department.

The post holder will be required to work as part of the administration team and provide cross cover during periods of staff absence within their existing team and other teams within the Directorate as and when required.

This support should be provided during the core hours of 08:30 to 16:30 unless otherwise specified at local level and should be aligned to the Direct Clinical Care time of the Clinical Team for whom they support.

Provide general administrative services as required by the department.

Locate medical notes within a department or request them from other locations.

Tracking medical notes in and out of the department.

Filling letters and reports in medical notes promptly and cross reference whenever necessary and general office filing.

Photocopying, scanning and posting documentation.

Dealing with the post daily.

Ordering stationery via EPROC.

Checking blood results on PCS.

Deal with telephone enquiries within agreed limits and take appropriate actions.

Preparing notes for clinic and outcoming.

support reception as required.

Liaise with other hospital departments, GPs and other health care agencies when required.

Provide administrative support to the Elderly medicine team to ensure the smooth running of clinics. Process and administer all patient enquiries.

Provide information and advice to healthcare professionals and specific non-clinical departments.

To act as local signpost for other NHS Services.

Always adhere to Trust policies and procedures. Undertake training and mentoring of staff as required.

Participate in the collection of complex data for service monitoring and audit activities.

Be compliant with Trust arrangements for continuing professional development.

Other adhoc duties requested by admin team.
