**Job Title: Legal Claims Handler**

**Location**: Blackburn, UK

We are looking for an experienced Legal Claims Handler who has previous exposure to areas of law such as RTA, Personal Injury, Industrial Disease, or Housing Disrepair. As a Proclaim File Handler, you will be responsible for managing legal claims efficiently, handling client interactions, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Utilise the Proclaim system to manage legal claims and workflows effectively.
- Receive initial instructions and create matter records, conducting associated checks to support risk assessment.
- Log clients' signed Forms of Authority and Completed Questionnaires on the Case Management System.
- Request and maintain required documentation from clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct DSAR (Data Subject Access Request) reviews as needed.
- Act as the first point of contact with clients, providing professional and courteous assistance.
- Arrange and manage client appointments efficiently.
- Prepare Letters of Claim, Part 36/Calderbanks for both clients and defendants.
- Handle all necessary calls and correspondence with clients and third parties during the initial stages of claims.

**Attributes & Competencies Required**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with staff, clients, and the public.
- English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C) or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent.
- Law degree or graduate with relevant legal knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, manage, and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Flexible approach to working and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Team player with the initiative to work independently when required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal documentation.
- Capability to complete assignments in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection regulations.
