Sheilapalace Recruitment is a leading recruitment agency specialising in legal services, and we are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Disease File Handler for an excellent opportunity with a vibrant law firm based in Blackburn. This position requires previous experience in Industrial Disease matters and proficiency in using the Proclaim system.

We are looking for an experienced Legal Claims Handler with a background in Industrial Disease cases to join our client's dynamic team. As an Industrial Disease File Handler, you will be responsible for managing legal claims related to industrial injuries and illnesses, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and providing excellent client service.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Receive and process initial instructions related to Industrial Disease claims.
- Create matter records and perform associated checks to support risk assessment.
- Utilize the Proclaim system to log client's signed Forms of Authority and Completed Questionnaires.
- Request and maintain required documentation from clients and other parties involved in the claims process.
- Conduct DSAR (Data Subject Access Request) reviews as required.
- Act as the first point of contact for clients, providing professional and compassionate assistance.
- Schedule and manage client appointments efficiently.
- Prepare Letters of Claim, Part 36/Calderbanks for both clients and defendants.
- Handle all necessary calls and correspondence with clients and third parties during the initial stages of claims.

**Attributes & Competencies Required**:

- Previous experience in Industrial Disease cases is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with staff, clients, and the public.
- English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C) or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent.
- Law degree or graduate with relevant legal knowledge.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, manage, and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Flexible approach to working and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Team player with the initiative to work independently when required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal documentation.
- Capability to complete assignments in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection regulations.
