If so, a vacancy has arisen for a Payroll Admin Support Clerk to join our team within Payroll and Pensions at ELFS Shared Services, Darwen.

The payroll department is busy and fast paced, where you will be able to bring your organisational, written and communication skills to assist the team in their duties.

Whether you are just starting out in your career or are looking to use your skills and experience in a new role, ELFS Shared Services could be the right place for you.

You will provide high-quality routine clerical support to the department undertaking general clerical duties including printing, the correct distribution of payslips and P45 within the agreed timescales and scanning post for the department.

You will also be required to cover basic reception duties, delegating mail to the correct location, ensuring the distribution of post and generic reception duties.

You will need to be able to work independently ensuring all duties are undertaken in a timely manner, have excellent keyboard skills and strong customer service skills.

As a leading provider in NHS Payroll Services, we combine best practice of shared service solution design with our extensive knowledge and experience in delivering NHS Payroll Services at a cost-effective price. Our payroll services are successfully delivered to over 100,000 NHS employees across 13 large NHS Trust/ICBs throughout the country every month, including weekly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

Established in 2002, ELFS is a proven NHS owned Shared Service solution providing Financial and Payroll services to thirty-four NHS organisations and one CIC throughout the country from its Head Office based in Darwen, Lancashire with a satellite unit based at St James House in Salford.

Our payroll department provides a comprehensive Payroll, Pensions, Expenses and Service desk to our clients. We are passionate about providing high quality services, staff development and growing our talent. We understand that quality and accuracy are paramount and encourage our staff on continued learning and development.

The post is based at our Head Office in Darwen, just off Junction 4 of the M65. This role is office based, 5 days a week, however we operate a flexi time policy.

Providing clerical support to the Payroll Department ensuring appropriate level of customer service responding in a professional, courteous and timely manner.

Scanning and distributing any internal post received into the Department to relevant folders on computerised systems.

Sorting and distributing payslips relating to any of ELFS Clients and any other documents.

Answering and recording telephone messages as and when required and ensuring these are directed to an appropriate person.
