Norwich, United Kingdom Virgin Wines Full time

**Title: Partnerships Manager / Business Development Manager**

**Reports to: Head of Partnerships**

**Salary: Dependent on experience + uncapped commission**

**Hours: Full-time - 37.5 hours/week**

**Location: (Hybrid) Head office in Norwich with UK travel**

**Overview**:
Virgin Wines is part of the iconic Virgin brand, and as part of our aggressive growth strategy we’re on a mission to be the biggest and best specialist, online drinks retailer in UK. Right now, we’re looking for someone to join our successful Partnerships Team.

Sitting within the New Business and Partnerships department, the Partnerships team plays an integral role in Virgin Wines’ customer recruitment strategy, helping to introduce new customers to Virgin Wines through affinity partnerships with like-minded brands/organisations in UK. As Partnerships Manager / Business Development Manager you’ll be responsible for developing a portfolio of partner brands in order to drive customers to Virgin Wines. This involves identifying and forging relationships with senior decision-makers at target companies and negotiating mutually beneficial promotional campaigns that introduce new customers to our business (B2B2C).

You don’t need to know your Claret from your Beaujolais to join our Partnerships Team, but you will need to be a tenacious sales professional who thrives on creating new opportunities, building relationships and closing deals. You’ll have individual targets and activity related KPI’s to meet, and will make extensive use of Salesforce to self-manage your partner and prospect database. Leads are provided along with full training and ongoing development, but we encourage creative minds along with big and bold new ideas, and to thrive in this role you’ll be capable of thinking outside the box. Virgin Wines is a very cross-functional business, so you must be a team-player who can work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments towards collective organisational objectives.

The package includes a competitive salary with uncapped commission, performance related incentives, 25 days annual leave and hybrid working (3 days in the office). Perks including huge staff discounts on wine, WSET training, summer and Christmas company parties, regular team night’s out and perhaps a trip abroad to a vineyard and winery. For the right person there are also opportunities for career progression.

So, if you’re good at forming relationships and want to work in a fun and stimulating environment with great people, and at a growing company, then this might just be the role you’ve been waiting for.

**A bit more detail**:

- Making use of your company phone and laptop to set up video-calls and face-2-face meetings to schmooze potential partners, pitch the Virgin Wines proposition, negotiate and close deals.
- You’ll create and deliver impressive and engaging presentations to key decision makers at leading organisations across multiple industries/sectors in UK.
- You’ll set up marketing campaigns and promotions with your partners in line with both brands’ objectives.
- You will oversee the seamless transition of new partners into the Account Management team, but you will maintain and grow a small portfolio of key partners on an ongoing basis.
- You’ll work at a few of our hugely popular LIVE wine tasting events across UK.

**Your skills**:

- Star-like qualities; lots of energy, passion and creative flair.
- A strong work ethic, performs well under pressure, with a proven track record in a B2B sales environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, especially verbal communication and rapport building.
- A skilled negotiator; tenacious with enthusiasm for closing deals.
- Grit, determined and resilient.

**Experience & qualifications**:

- 2+ year’s B2B business development experience essential
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- An understanding of direct response marketing is desirable.
- An interest in wine would be beneficial but not essential
